June 9-15 is Men's Health Awareness Week: Make Your Health A Priority

June 9–15, 2025 marks National Men’s Health Awareness Week, a time to spotlight the critical issues impacting men’s health and to encourage men everywhere to take charge of their well-being.

Between 2010 and 2021, the Life Expectancy Gap between men and women in the U.S. increased from 4.8 to 5.8 years. That means women are now expected to live nearly six years longer than men on average. While many factors contribute to this disparity, one of the most alarming is the cultural tendency for men to downplay their need for medical help or avoid seeking care altogether.

At the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, we believe these statistics must change — and we’re working every day to help make that happen.

Breaking the Silence: Testicular Cancer Awareness

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 15–44, yet it remains a taboo topic. One of our primary goals at Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation is to reduce the stigma surrounding conversations about testicular health and ensure that critical information is readily available to those who need it.

Let’s be honest: men don’t want to talk about their testicles, especially in a medical context. But these conversations can be truly life-saving. Just as women are taught to perform monthly breast self-exams, monthly testicular self-exams (TSEs) should be a normal part of men’s health routines. Early detection leads to better outcomes, and TSEs are the key to catching cancer before it spreads.

Make Your Health a Priority

At TCAF, we are more than an awareness campaign — we are a lifeline for patients, families, and survivors. Our programs provide:

This Week, Take Action

During Men’s Health Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to:

  • Learn how to perform a testicular self-exam — and share that knowledge

  • Talk about it with your friends, sons, students, or teammates

  • Support our mission by donating, volunteering, or raising awareness

  • Use your voice to break the silence and stigma that keep too many men from getting the care they need

Every Conversation Could Save a Life

Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation’s mission is to ensure that no man walks through a testicular cancer diagnosis alone. We are building a future where awareness, support, and survivorship are the standard — not the exception.

Let this Men’s Health Awareness Week be your reminder to Make Your Health a Priority.
Because talking about your health isn’t weakness — it’s strength.
And strength saves lives.
